Smilies appear in "Edit post" text boxes, but not in actual posts. SOLVED

I added 2 smilies at the end. When the thread is loaded, my post shows the textual representations for the 2 smilies, but if I attempt to edit the post, they appear correctly in the edit box.

I understand this is not likely a high priority.

This is because if you notice next to the "quick reply" box, smilies are diabled by default for some reason. This is a quick reply with that left checked.

Yeah it's that box. It may be user definable, I'll see if there's a global setting somewhere.

I haven't found a global setting for this yet, but I did find where I can prevent the site from merging posts like what happened in your contacts thread. I disabled that.

Cool beans. I'll keep an eye out for that checkbox. With that in mind, I did resolve my own original "issue."
