Here's the official Facebook event page for the 2021 VA rally. I intend on going, but won't know my work schedule for some time, but I plan on making sure I can be there. As usual, let's represent PA.

While we were still researching options for "our" version of the Guns Save Lives sticker, I bought a roll from the VCDL store, as they were still cheap enough to use as freebie handouts in the absence of our own, and that org is certainly worthy of our support.

Since ours will soon be available, I'll hold the VA ones back for Richmond in January. Heck, I may even be a member of their org by then.

^ Great idea. The message works everywhere, it doesn't matter who printed them.

I'll gladly support them too.

So with the 9/29 Harrisburg rally behind us, is this officially our next "scheduled event"? Would seem to make sense to stay on a 3 month-ish schedule.

It may be. This one could be an interesting one. Since last year, preemption has been demolished and Richmond has passed an ordinance to ban guns "at or adjacent to events that require a city permit." VCDL believes this was intentionally aimed at Lobby Day.

I'm not sure if a court challenge has been mounted on this one yet.

FPC just posted something about this ordinance on Twitter(https://twitter.com/gunpolicy/status/131...88/photo/1)

I'm going to assume it's going to be safer to just go unarmed (as much as I hate saying that) vs trying to stay concealed at a minimum. Do we have any VCDL contacts to hear what legal options we have (if any)?

We don't have a direct contact, per se, to reach out to, but their FB page is very active. If you don't do social media, I'm sure those of us that do will be sharing any info that develops as the event draws closer.

As with the PA folks, there are certainly those that say "Fuck 'em, they can't arrest us all.", but I don't expect to see that as the official suggested position of VCDL as an organization.
